Nic - Trying

Cody with
a 4.19 Largemouth |
We had 4 members, with 3 boats, fishing the
last tournament of the year on Banks Lake. The
WSBF Open, with 6 boats,
was also on Banks both days.
Both tournaments co existed with no
reported conflicts. It was
in the 50's for the 6:15 am Saturday
blast off with overcast skies,
strong winds and rain.
It got worse as the day went on with
stronger winds and rain. It
was too windy to fish the main
lake. Sunday saw lows
in 50's with mild winds and a sunny
sky for the blast off. The
wind picked up around noon to 10 -
15 MPH. Tom, fished
with Cody Hampton, who had the big
bass of the tournament, a 4.19 pound
largemouth caught on a jig, which
was a new club record for the bigest
largemouth caught in a club
tournament.
They caught most of their fish on a
drop shot rig, with a Fisher
Brothers DS Minnow, and on square
bill crank baits. Brian indicated he caught his
Saturday fish fish
on square bill crank baits.
The bite was pretty slow on Saturday
and even slower on Sunday. The
largemouth bite was very slow on
Sunday.
The next club tournament is
in April 2017 on Lake Roosevelt. |
