Our third tournament of the year was
very close. Only two anglers
fished. Tom nosed out Curt by .16
pounds! The weather was a little
chilly on Saturday with moderate winds
from the South. Sunday saw strong
winds from the west with a morning
temperature of 61 and in the lower 70's
at the weigh in. Water
temperatures ranged from 57 at Coulee
Playland to the mid and upper 60's in
the Punch Bowl and the main lake.
Saturday saw a good reaction bait bite
most of the day. The bite was
better on Saturday but the fish
were a bit bigger on Sunday. Curt
caught morning fish both days on jerk
baits. Tom said he caught a lot of
fish on Saturday on crank baits on the
main lake but none on Sunday. Tom
caught his largemouth both days on
senkos and a chigger craw in the Punch
Bowl and the airport slews. After
the jerk bait Curt's most effective bait
was a Beaver.
