June 28th saw projected
temperatures of 105 degrees by noon.
Water temperatures were between 68
and 75 degrees. We had 4
boats projected to fish but only one
showed up with the forecasted
temperatures. It was 104
degrees with calm winds at 1 pm.
Tom said he saw few boats on the
main lake because of the forecasted
heat. He caught 5 largemouths
in Osborn, the Airport Slews and the
Punch Bowl. All were skinny
post spawn males between 1.5 and 2
pounds. He then went out to
the main lake and caught 15
smallies on crankbaits and senkos.
He was only able to cull one
largemouth. All of the
smallies were also post spawn fish.
