We only had two anglers fish our June
Banks Tournament
Saturday saw sun and very strong winds
with temperatures in the sixties in the morning
then in the lower 80's at the end of
the day. Sunday also saw very strong
winds. There were very few bass
anglers on the main lake due to the
strong winds. Water temps ranged
from 64 to 71 degrees. Most of
the largemouths and all of smallmouths
had already spawned so it was mostly a
post spawn tournament. While we
only had two anglers fishing in single
boat there were another 20 boats
fishing a state High School
tournament. Because
we only had two anglers we decided to
weigh in all of our fish on the
water. Charlie Cox joined club
and fished Tom Melowitz. It was
a close tournament with Tom Melowitz
winning by a single ounce.
Both Tom and Charlie caught about 20
fish each day. The fish
caught were Mostly on tubes and
Football Head Jigs with Hula Grubs in
5 - 20
feet. The next club
tournament is on Banks Lake in July.. |
